ERB Tests

ERB (Educational Records Bureau) is a global not-for-profit organization providing admission and achievement assessment as well as instructional services for PreK – Grade 12. For over 85 years, and with over 2,000 member schools and districts around the world, ERB continues to be a trusted source to inform admission decisions and/or to support curriculum and instruction.


Collaborating with both independent and public schools around the world to build communities, guide instruction, and put assessment insights into action, ERB is dedicated to supporting student learning.

AABL is an interactive child friendly test for students. Schools use this test for admissions and placement for applicants Pre-K – Grade 1.
The Education Records Bureau (ERB) administers a modified WPPSI-IV and WISC-V to determine a student's achievement.
In New York City, the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) administers a modified Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, 4th Edition (WISC-IV) for independent school entry into grades two through four.
The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is an admission test developed by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) used by many independent schools as part of their admissions process. The ISEE has three levels: students applying to grades 5 or 6 take the Lower Level exam; students applying to grades 7 or 8 take the Middle Level; and students applying to grades 9–12 take the Upper Level exam.
