Bright Kids was founded in 2009 by a mother who wanted better academic options for her children. She wanted a high-quality institution to cater to young children who need admissions-based test preparation. Bright Kids founder, Bige Doruk, always wanted to create change, and there is no better way to create change than beginning with our children.
Founder & CEO of Bright Kids
Ms. Bige Doruk received her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M & her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. She is is a mother of three young children & a highly experienced professional with core competencies that span strategic business development, management consulting, product development, and engineering. As a senior manager at McKinsey & Company & Associate Partner at Helios Consulting, she focused on developing new business strategies for Fortune 500 companies. She was formerly the CEO of Gaia Power Technologies, which was sold in 2008, and prior to that, ran her own consulting business.
Bige’s passion for education comes from her parents, who have dedicated their lives to educating young children. Bige founded Bright Kids NYC to create a professional tutoring service for children that creates results by combining the right materials, processes, and teacher training.
Head of Development, E-Learning Platform
John is in charge of our e-learning platform development and online services. With 20+ years of business and technology experience, he's spent the last ten years focusing on SaaS Platforms and big data, most recently for TIAA-CREF. John has 10+ years of consulting experience with Mercer Management (now Oliver Wyman) and Helios. He has an MBA from Harvard, MS from Cornell, and BS degree from Polytechnic University.
Outside of Bright Kids, John stays busy coaching softball in Long Island and raising his two kids.
Head of Operations and Curriculum
Danielle joined Bright Kids in 2012 as an Education Assistant. She has been instrumental in helping development of Bright Kids Platforms in creating systematic curricula & managing publications & materials-creation. She's played a variety of roles at Bright Kids & brings a wealth of experience to our team!
Danielle graduated with a BA in English from NYU. During her undergraduate years, she worked alongside a veteran NYC DOE Pre-K teacher, where she discovered her love of working with young children. In her free time, she can be found baking or attending various Irish cultural & musical events.
Upper East Side Office and Account Manager
Claire grew up in Denver, Colorado and moved to New York to attend New York University - where she studied Photography and Psychology. Before coming to Bright Kids, she had various jobs, always working with kids and families. Claire has always had a passion for working with kids and helping them and their parents make the best decisions for their development. She has enjoyed getting to know the Bright Kids families and seeing the progress of our students.
Outside of work, you can find Claire running in Central Park, exploring the city looking for restaurants, or spending Sundays watching football.
Lead Account and Downtown Manager
Keyosha joined Bright Kids in October 2015 as a Scheduling Assistant. After quickly forming a great relationship with the Bright Kids team and clients, she was promoted to an Account Manager and eventually Office Manager. In all of her roles, Keyosha developed an intricate understanding of each client’s goals and uses her experience to ensure that those goals are met. Keyosha received her Juris Doctor degree from Touro Law and her Bachelor’s in Political Science from Touro College.
Outside of work, Keyosha can be found studying, looking for new places to travel to next, and spending time with her family.
Head of Accounting and Finance
Jonathan joined Bright Kids in 2014. He brings a decade of experience in accounting, customer service and operations. He enjoys keeping finances in order and resolving client issues. Prior to joining Bright Kids, Jonathan worked for an organic care kids line as a jack of all trades specializing in operations and invoicing. He also has experience in the telecommunications and print industry. Jonathan studied accounting at both Bronx Community College and Lehman College.
Outside of work, you can find Jonathan spending time with his adorable niece, playing softball, looking forward to the latest Superhero movie, and watching the Yankees and New York Giants play.
