Bright Kids was founded in 2009 by a mother who wanted better academic options for her children. She wanted a high-quality institution to cater to young children who need admissions-based test preparation. Bright Kids founder, Bige Doruk, always wanted to create change, and there is no better way to create change than beginning with our children.
Bige Doruk
Founder & CEO of Bright Kids
Ms. Bige Doruk received her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M & her M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. She is is a mother of three young children & a highly experienced professional with core competencies that span strategic business development, management consulting, product development, and engineering. As a senior manager at McKinsey & Company & Associate Partner at Helios Consulting, she focused on developing new business strategies for Fortune 500 companies. She was formerly the CEO of Gaia Power Technologies, which was sold in 2008, and prior to that, ran her own consulting business.
Bige’s passion for education comes from her parents, who have dedicated their lives to educating young children. Bige founded Bright Kids NYC to create a professional tutoring service for children that creates results by combining the right materials, processes, and teacher training.
John Nell
Head of Development, E-Learning Platform
John is in charge of our e-learning platform development and online services. With 20+ years of business and technology experience, he's spent the last ten years focusing on SaaS Platforms and big data, most recently for TIAA-CREF. John has 10+ years of consulting experience with Mercer Management (now Oliver Wyman) and Helios. He has an MBA from Harvard, MS from Cornell, and BS degree from Polytechnic University.
Outside of Bright Kids, John stays busy coaching softball in Long Island and raising his two kids.
Jonathan Cintron
Head of Accounting and Finance
Jonathan joined Bright Kids in 2014. He brings a decade of experience in accounting, customer service and operations. He enjoys keeping finances in order and resolving client issues. Prior to joining Bright Kids, Jonathan worked for an organic care kids line as a jack of all trades specializing in operations and invoicing. He also has experience in the telecommunications and print industry. Jonathan studied accounting at both Bronx Community College and Lehman College.
Outside of work, you can find Jonathan spending time with his adorable niece, playing softball, looking forward to the latest Superhero movie, and watching the Yankees and New York Giants play.
